QUAIL HUNTING AT ITS FINEST...
Ashbrook's 1000+ acres are surrounded by ponds, creeks, and woods that are home to a wide variety of native animal and tree species including long-needle pines, live oak, sawtooth, gobbler oak and more. Many of the pines surrounding Erinn's Pond are over 100 years old, and there are pecan trees that have been on the property almost twice as long as that! Feed plots have been established for deer and turkey, and the abundant freshwater spring-fed ponds offer great fishing. Beautiful vistas and knolls abound. Through our continued preservation efforts many of the natural features of this land have remained virtually unchanged in hundreds of years.

To challenge and inspire the hunting enthusiast,
we have six primary "courses" on Ashbrook that we hunt. Guests are
welcome to bring their own bird dogs or hunt with our string of top-quality,
well-trained pointers, setters and brittanies. We breed most of our own dogs
and have chosen lines that exemplify style, class and biddability.
Not only do our dogs work well on the plantation, we have successfully campaigned
both English Pointers and English Setters in field trial competitions -- including
our liver/white English Pointer 'Covey Up Johnny' who won the prestigious
2006
AKC All Pointing Breed Gun Dog Championship!
Here is another promising young field
trial Pointer co-owned by Ashbrook's owner Ray Knight, with KC Shore of VIP
Pointers.
"V.I.P. Natural High" (call name "Cut") won the American
Pointer Club, Inc. 2007 National Championship trial Derby Classic, handled
by Jim Heckert of PA. Cut placed
first in the majority of his Derby stakes in 2007, and will be running in
broke stakes starting in 2008.
Cut is sired by FC/NGDC Covey Up Johnny.
